| Position: General Manger |
Key job tasks of General Manager
1. Planning administration:
• Provide leadership and vision to the organization by assisting the Board and staff with the development of long range and annual plans, and with the evaluation and reporting of progress on plans.
• Prepare an Annual Report summarizing progress on short and long -range plans.
• Write discussion papers, analyse documents and proposals as needed, to assist the organization in determining and meeting its long and short term goals.
2. HR management:
• Recruitment and contracting of company and project staff;
• Employee development, and training;
• Policy development and documentation;
• Employee relations;
• Performance management and improvement systems;
• Compliance to all statutory labour laws of the Government of India and the state government of Andhra Pradesh
• Committee facilitation ie., arranging Board meetings and agenda, attending and minuting meetings;
3. Project management:
• Conducting the Spelling championships for the Twin-cities that may include Venue liaison, negotiation with the sponsors, coordinating the preparation of test papers, evaluation of them, giving away of the prizes, procuring of the same well in advance, etc.
• Merchandise management ie., creation of brand and markets for the Spellbrain products, negotiating with the vendors and selling on-line, etc.
• Oversee the organization of company properties, safeguarding them and managing the inventory.
4. Marketing and PR:
• Manage advertising opportunities at various levels ie. press, schools, colleges and the examination centres.
• Organize the events appropriately so the company gets its requisite mileage.
• Oversee content, production and distribution of all marketing and publicity materials (posters, programmes, flyers, brochures etc) with the Board, designers and project managers.
• Manage all matters relating to the Printing Press;
• Co-ordinate the invitation of potential future promoters and supporters of the company as well as sponsors.
5. Financial management:
• Provide recommendations regarding investments and cash strategies.
• Oversee preparation of annual budget, regular reporting, and annual audit.
• Provide vision regarding overall financial health of the company.
• Provide vision and leader ship in long - range fiscal planning to ensure the continuity and solvency of the company.
• Provide recommendations regarding effective utilization of long and short term debt (wherever necessary and applicable), including purchasing/sales.
7. Production/QC:
• Accurate documentation of production and quality control data and records.
• Direct and oversee activities and personnel.
• Oversee and/or ensure good housekeeping all times.
6. Administrative management:
• Ensure client and vendor file integrity (documents of the schools children, participants of various competitions, etc
• Assist in development of forms and tools to increase company efficiency and risk management.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. A minimum of five years of experience in business management, planning and financial management.
2. The five years of experience may include personnel management, including hiring, supervision, evaluation and benefits administration.
3. Experience of working with a board of directors and committees will be a great additional advantage.
4. A good Post-graduate degree in Management. An academic background in English will help, though not essential.
5. Proven skills in business and financial management.
6. Demonstrated ability to work with students and school managements.
7. Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization.
8. Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
9. Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise a staff team.
10. Effective problem - solving and mediation skills.
11. Demonstrated ability to share skills and knowledge with others.
12. Proficiency with office computer equipment and software.
13. Demonstrated ability to multi - task and work in a fast - paced office setting.
14. Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations.

| The Spellbrain India, an English language competency testing company requires a Statistician and a Statistical Assistant. |
Statistician:
The job involves directing, planning, and conducting statistical activities for the company which is currently engaged in paper based testing programmes but eventually will get into computer-based testing programmes.
The job chart includes
1. Designing and conducting psychometric analyses
2. Analyzing and proposing solutions to measurement problems, and communicating those solutions effectively using various statistical analysis software e.g., SAS, SPSS
3. Applying and interpreting psychometric methods such as partial credit models, factor analysis, item analysis, scaling standard setting, and item calibration
Eligibility:
A doctorate degree in educational or psychological measurement and statistics, or a closely related field is required. Candidates must have at least one year of experience in educational measurement, applied statistics, or teaching.
Statistical Assistant:
The position of Statistical Assistant involves entry-level statistical programming and data analysis activities in support of a variety of special projects and operational processes, including:
• Analysis of test questions and tests
• Analysis of scores from paper-based tests
• Research in educational measurements and statistics
Eligibility:
A bachelor’s degree in mathematics, psychology, statistics, computer science or a closely related field. Experience in using statistical computing environments and tools (e.g., SAS) will be beneficial. Knowledge of the computer based applications and experience in using computers to perform data analysis are highly desirable.
